This Privacy Policy explains how Kiteseason (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

We designed the App to collect only the minimum data necessary to provide its core features: displaying live wind and weather data, showing a satellite map and webcam of the spot, and sending wind alerts and Lock Screen / Dynamic Island wind updates.
The App does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, e-mail address, postal address or payment details. The App is free of charge and contains no paid subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Where this data is stored:
We do not use these settings to identify you as a specific individual.
We do not use this data to build a marketing profile of you, and we do not track your behaviour across other apps or websites.
The App shows wind information, a satellite map and a webcam for one fixed spot (the Lo Stagnone lagoon, Sicily). The App does not request access to your device’s GPS location, does not store your location on our servers, and does not share it with third parties. The map is always centered on the fixed school location, not on you.
The App uses push notifications to inform you when your wind alert conditions are met, and Live Activities (Apple’s Lock Screen and Dynamic Island feature) to show the current wind without opening the App.
To deliver these, we store a push notification token, Live Activity tokens, a randomly generated per-install device identifier, and your alert configuration. These data are used only to deliver the updates you requested.
You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings, and turn off wind alerts and the Lock Screen feature within the App.

Used to host and secure our backend (Workers, KV storage, R2 storage for the webcam snapshot). Data processed: IP address, basic request metadata, and the data needed to store your settings.
The satellite map is provided using Esri World Imagery. Technical request data (e.g. IP address) is processed when map tiles are loaded.
The wind forecast shown in the App is provided by the Windguru widget. Technical request data is processed when the forecast is loaded.
These sources provide weather data only and do not process your personal data.
The App may display banners or links promoting our own services (kitesurfing trips, courses, or our online shop). These are simple in-app promotions, not third-party advertising networks. Tapping them may open an external website governed by its own privacy policy. We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, the right to object, and the right to withdraw consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
The App is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
By downloading, installing or using Kiteseason (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
The App is provided for informational and recreational purposes, primarily to display wind and weather data and related information (satellite map, webcam, forecast) and to send wind alerts and Lock Screen wind updates.
The App is free of charge and contains no paid subscriptions or in-app purchases. You agree to use the App only in accordance with applicable laws and not to misuse it in any way.
The App may display data from meteorological stations, airport weather reports, forecasts, webcams or other sources. While we strive to provide useful and reasonably accurate information, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any data. Data may be delayed, interrupted, or temporarily unavailable.
Weather and wind conditions can change rapidly. You should always verify conditions using multiple sources and your own judgement.
The kite size calculator provides only a rough, non-binding estimate based on average conditions and standard equipment. Always adapt your equipment to your own skills, the current gusts, and the water conditions.
You use the App at your own risk. We are not responsible for any injury, damage, loss, or incident that may occur as a result of using or relying on information from the App, including during kitesurfing, windsurfing, sailing, or any other outdoor or water activities. Always respect local rules, safety recommendations, and your own limits.
The App may display banners or links promoting our own services. Tapping them may open an external website or another application. We are not responsible for the content, availability or policies of any external websites or services opened from the App.
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logos, and other content, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on your device in accordance with these Terms and with Apple’s App Store rules.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App or attempt to extract its source code, unless such restrictions are prohibited by law or we have given prior written permission.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, loss of data, or personal injury arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Because the App is provided free of charge, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you in full.
We may update, modify, or temporarily or permanently discontinue the App or any of its features at any time, provided that your statutory rights as a consumer remain unaffected. We may also update these Terms; if we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection legislation gives you the right to bring your claim in another jurisdiction.
